Welcome to term 4.

Hope everyone is well and has found a new routine of online learning.  Staff here at Dairy Flat School are working hard at making learning engaging and fun.  Thank you for your continued support.  We have a small number of tamariki at school from families who cannot look after their children at home.  These classes are full as there is a limit of numbers in each bubble class.

Please fill in this form if you would like a learning pack for next week.  These will be available on TUESDAY 12.30-2.00pm.

AG day

Sadly, there will be no Ag day this year. We all held out hope but now it’s clear that in level 3 we cannot go ahead. We are so sorry.

A fun activity instead for owners of lambs, calves, goats and chickens we ask the following – (this is optional)

 

• Lambs, Calves, and Goats.  Send in a 2-3 minute video of you and your animal

• • Tell us its name

• • Share leading your animal

• • Call your animal

• • Share anything else about your animal

 

• Chickens.  Send in a 2-3 minute video of you and your chicken(s)

• • Share some interesting information about your animal

• • Share some parts of your diary

• • Share anything else we may find interesting

 

 

 

• Lego construction  /pets / plus any other ag day activities

• • Share a photo or short 1 min video of your creation or pet

Between now and 1 November

Once we have got as many videos and photos as possible we will create a Dairy Flat COVID 2021 AG day edition to share on our website, to our community and back at school when we go back.

All participants in our special 2021 AG day will receive an award.  There will be no judging, place getters or cups this year.

VACCINATIONS  

You’re aware of the Government’s decision that all staff and workers who may have contact with children and students in schools and kura must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by 1 January 2022. This measure has the support of education entities including the representative bodies of teachers and principals.

As the employer, we are responsible for ensuring the Government’s Health Orders are put into practice.

The health and wellbeing of our students, staff, and everyone involved in the safe operation of our school is something we take very seriously. As with other diseases that many of us are vaccinated from (measles, meningitis, pneumonia, tetanus and polio), without vaccination we’re at risk of serious illness, disability and in extreme cases, even death.

Because not everyone can be vaccinated – including very young babies, those who are seriously ill or have certain allergies – they depend on us to be vaccinated to ensure they are also safe from vaccine-preventable diseases. By getting vaccinated against COVID-19, we are protecting ourselves and protecting those around us.

By getting vaccinated, we’re less likely to get sick from COVID-19, and we’re also less likely to pass it on.

Many other countries, including Australia and the United States, have mandated that their education workforce be vaccinated to assist in the safe reopening of schools.

A fully vaccinated education workforce provides reassurance for parents and whānau that it’s safe for their children and young people to attend school, and benefit from being with their friends and face-to-face learning with their teachers.

We will continue to update you with the latest public health and other information as it becomes available.
