Hi to all our Dairy Flat School Community
I have been impressed with how seamlessly we have all adapted to this new lockdown. I am, as I am sure we all are, hoping that we will all be back to school next week.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the positive support we have received from the Ministry of Education. They are in touch daily and able to answer any queries we have.
The teachers have swung into action and have been able to make hard copy packs for students who request them. I am proud of our team and am aware that there is lots of work going on in the background.
We have been informed that the upgrade of rooms 6 and 7 will commence in the September break so the students and teachers in these classrooms will be moving for a short time. The upgrade of the toilet block is in the planning stage with quotes coming in. We are also looking at increasing shade around the school and upgrading the turf outside the hall. Other projects in the wings are an upgrade of the road outside school, including a footpath, and more planting for our waste water recycled water. These last two projects are out of our control as they are planned and implemented by other entities.
You will note, that due to the lockdown, a number of scheduled events have been postponed or cancelled. These will be announced and will be on the calendar. Please note these date changes. (See the calendar dates above) We are planning a colour run later in the term to replace our cross country run. Keep a lookout for this date.
Lastly, to our parent community, thank you for your support during this time. If we can help with anything, please contact us. If we don’t know the answer, we can try to find out for you.
We’ve got this! Kia Kaha! Look after yourself first and you will be better able to look after others in your bubble. We miss you! Looking forward to seeing you all back soon!
