Auckland to remain at Alert Level 3 until 26 August (to be reviewed on the 21st Aug)

Hi to all our Dairy Flat families and whanau

Following the announcement this evening from our Prime Minister, Dairy Flat School will remain at Alert level 3. This means that school is open for those students who need to be at school because both parents are required to be at work. Everyone is encouraged to stay at home in their bubble if possible. The Ministry of Education will be sending out information tomorrow at 5pm. I will forward any further details to the school community on Sunday.

The Prime Minister asked people in Auckland to;

  • Please stay at home in your bubble.
  • Wear a face covering whenever you leave your home.
  • Download and use the app and make sure you can quickly access all your movements for the last 14 days in case you are contacted by the contact tracers.
  • And everyone, wash your hands and if you’re sick – stay home and get a test.

As we learned previously, regular washing and drying of hands and good cough and sneeze etiquette remain fundamental to preventing spread of illness such as colds, flu and COVID-19

If staff or students have any symptoms they should stay away from school. Any staff member or student presenting at school with symptoms will be sent home. This is to keep everyone safe. Physical distancing is also important and this will be put in place at school.

From Monday teachers will be contacting parents and students with information to support learning at home. All the links are still on our website and can be easily accessed. Please feel free to email your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns. You can also contact both myself and the Deputy Principal, Susan Thompson.

I have attached a flyer from the Ministry of Health that has been sent to schools. You will find useful information and links to further advice on the doc.

We’ve got this! Kia Kaha
