Mobile Phones

Just a reminder about bringing mobile phones to school.

If your child brings a phone to school they must give it to their teacher so they can store it in a safe, secure place until the end of the day. Mobile phones can not be used before or after school, during learning time, or in the playground.  Mobile phones are only needed for an emergency – with parents needing to contact their children regarding pick-up arrangements

AG DAY 2020 – Down on the farm

Great news everyone! Our biggest school fundraiser – AG Day – will be going ahead in October (provided we stay at Level 1 or below) so the PTA has commenced planning. We need volunteers to help coordinate some key activities including the External Market Stalls, Silent Auction, the Bacon & Egg/Sausage Sizzle stand, the Hot Chips stand, and the Lamb Spit stand. These all require some coordination prior to Ag Day, as well as coordination on the day. You will have help on the day from other parents through the roster system. If you can volunteer to be a coordinator please email: [email protected]

Young NZ Writers Story Competition
Ex-pupil – Maria Walker-Kinnell

Congratulations to Maria Walker-Kinnell, Year 7, who came 2nd in the Young NZ Writers Story Competition.

The theme was “Beyond Belief” and Maria’s story “What Really Happens at the Canterbury A&P Show” impressed the judges with its humour and creativity. One judge said she laughed out loud as she was reading it. Maria’s story will be published on the organisations website and in an anthology of the top entries.
