Though it was expected this week, the news that we are at Alert Level 1 from tomorrow has taken us a bit by surprise as we have usually been given notice.
I would like to thank the parent community, our students and staff, and our Board of Trustees for the support we have received for the new processes and procedures in place during Alert Level three and Alert Level two.
We have found that the playground has been calmer before and after school, teachers have had more time to engage with their students before school and the carpark flow, (though not perfect), has greatly improved.
We request that parents who want to walk their children into school do so, however at the end of the day we would like to retain our new pick up procedure at the gate. It keeps the carpark flowing and students know precisely where they will meet their parents. The new entrant classes will continue to arrive 5-10 minutes early at the gate to meet their parents. If you would like to talk to your child’s teacher after school, please let them know beforehand so they can be available – or- if they are on duty, make another time.
It is exciting to be back to Level One.
New Zealand has worked together to get here.
